The South Morgan Water Ditch Company (SMWDC) owns water rights that are used by its shareholders. SMWDC was originally incorporated as a nonprofit water ditch company on March 15, 1893. Water may be received either through time on a ditch turn or through the Morgan Secondary Water System. The irrigation season, depending upon water availability, generally runs from the middle of April to the middle of October.
To provide our shareholders with live updates, especially regarding any flooding issues or water turn-ons/shut-offs, we created a Facebook page named South Morgan Water Ditch Company. Milan Mecham
At the time of his death, Milan was a director on the board and assigned as our Ditch Master. Milan served for decades on the South Morgan Ditch board and was a wealth of knowledge. He was a great example of kindness, patience, and love. He was loved by all those who knew him. He will truly be missed!
